Would Naomi Klein run for the NDP?

She's not, as they say, ruling it out. From today's Sunday Times:
She supports the moderately leftish NDP in her home country and does not rule out standing for election one day. That being said, as soon as she has not ruled the prospect out, she gets nervous about having not done so and takes a gulp of coffee. She is a very big deal indeed back home and such an admission will have the phone ringing off the wall. For a brief moment the media veneer has gone and she looks slightly embarrassed.
Off the wall? Not so sure about that...

I'm more interested, actually, in the upcoming Outremont by-election. I hope Thomas Mulclair wins the seat for the NDP, not because of the party's politics per se, but because I think it would be a good thing for the country if the Dippers got a foothold in the Quebec.

The NDP has already dipped a toe into Quebec politics.

Phil Edmonston ran for the NDP, and was elected, though
I think for only one term. A quick check shows he
was elected in a 1993 byelection, he'd run in a previous
election, and then did not run a second time.

Phil Edmonston of course started the Automobile Protection
Association, though I'm not sure what he's doing since
he was in office.

So he won, but that has everything to do with Mulcair and pretty much nothing to do with the NDP.

You said..."I hope Thomas Mulclair wins the seat for the NDP, not because of the party's politics per se,"...

Why,what are their politics exactly ?I believe this is a valid question,at least elaborate a bit, seeing as yu brought it up.

How do you know this,or are you just repeating what you heard in the media? After all that seems to the standard line these days.At least among those that believe they can read voter intentions,so "clear and definitive".
If you are that good, you should have no trouble getting a job with some polling outfit...
Perhaps you can tell even tell me what I am thinking
